Barclay’s Fine Jewellers

Barclay’s Fine Jewellers

Barclay’s newly renovated showroom is located in quaint Oak Bay Avenue located in Victoria, BC. This project required Meade Design Group’s interiors and graphics expertise for both the interior and exterior of the jewellery store, creating an elegant, memorable and refined design overall.

Meade Design incorporated statement lighting, a custom coloured carpet, undulating lit display cases, as well as an “elegant” blend of textures including gold tones, silk, velvet, mirrors, shagreen and grass cloth, all grounded by black and charcoal wood tones. Branding was incorporated throughout with a mix of over-scaled and pattern repeat iterations of the logo using various methods of fabrication. The end result is a space that is inviting yet luxurious.

Royal Roads University

Royal Road University

Royal Roads University reached out to Meade Design Group to redesign 143 dormitory rooms and 33 ensuite-style rooms on the historical campus. Meade Design Group created a clean and sophisticated design concept incorporating subtle textures and patterns, 3D elements, and a calm gender-neutral colour scheme.

This project included drafting floor plans, material selections, conceptual furniture plans, customized graphics including door signage, branded accent pillows, and a wall mural of the original Hatley Castle floor plans. Digital renderings were created to bring the rooms to life and provide a much needed refresh.

McClure Street

McClure Street

Combining traditional and contemporary features to create a truly unique and elevated bachelor pad that exudes confidence. The goal for this home was to maintain the building’s character by restoring crown moldings and heritage features, while adding contemporary furnishings and a bold palette to infuse a strong and sophisticated European vibe. Moody, metallic wallpapers, intriguing sculptural lighting and brass features throughout the home create a ‘wow’ moment within each room.

Iván Meade and his team delivered a bold and edgy transformation to this Victoria heritage home.

FARM – Duncan

Farm – Duncan

In our fourth experience working with the FARM family of dispensaries, Meade Design Group continued the concept of combining the aesthetic of the previous projects in a new, unique interpretation fitting for each neighbourhood. For the new, Duncan location, Meade Design Group took a cleaner, more contemporary approach for the interior finishes and exterior design, while maintaining the familiar and welcoming ambiance.

Returning clients will recognize the large-scale mural, millwork, wall coverings, lighting and displays from the previous locations. Whereas old and new clients alike will enjoy new features such as tiled floors and warm tones on the walls. As seen in all previous locations, the branding has been applied to the flooring, windows, and tiled walls; for a cohesive, yet individual approach for their latest retail store.

Bear & Joey Restaurant

Bear & Joey Restaurant

Both an interiors and graphics project, owner of Bear & Joey, Peter Wood sought out the help of Meade Design Group to bring his vision of a Sydney inspired café in beautiful Victoria, B.C. to life. The objective was to create a vibrant, casual, yet elegant café unique from all other local coffee shops and restaurants. Bear & Joey’s branding, both graphic and interiors, emulates a clean, feminine, and upbeat look, perfect for capturing Instagram moments.

This look was achieved through meticulous selection of materials that would hold up to the daily wear of restaurant life while hitting just the right notes in the desired applications of pale mint, blush and grey tones; the result is soft yet edgy. Tropical leaves, bold brass geometric accents and retro-inspired architectural curves were all repeated throughout to combine into a space that transports you into an experience that is exclusively Bear & Joey. Unique twists on the typical installation methods for the upholstery, lighting and flooring add interest and movement to the space. Subtle, seemingly small decisions like these made a world of difference in the overall ambiance, reflecting  the attention to detail and forethought from Bear & Joey’s menu, translated into a comfortable space that has been developed to grow with Peter’s vision for the the future of his business with consideration for retail and outdoor eating, among other surprises that are sure to be released.

In addition to the interiors, Meade Design Group had the pleasure of providing Bear & Joey with graphic elements such as a full brand identity, custom to-go cups, unique interior mirror vinyls, a neon sign, and wayfinding signage, as well as a digital strategy guideline for Instagram.

Check out the restaurant graphic design as well.
