Barbara Gergel is a very talented and recognized local stylist. From residential to landscape design, Barbara’s ability to mix styles, deep knowledge of the design elements and a clear understanding of her clients needs are evident in each of her projects. Barbara’s designs have always been characterized by the elegance of their lines and a sense of uniqueness. Her work is often transitional with a perfect blend of classic and contemporary elements.
We created a design which we feel exudes class, flair and elegance with the use of a swooping peacock feather, clean typography, metallic inks and a chartruse colour palette which has been used on business cards and a one-page website.
Please visit Barb’s website at http://www.barbaragergel.ca/ and the identity, print and web galleries of our website to see the complete project.

Meade Design Group was a little spoiled this fall, we were able to host the launch of Barbara Barry’s latest fabric collection, ‘Indochine’ with a private gathering of clients. We were actually the first showing in Canada so we feel very special to have been given the opportunity!
Of course, we have to thank Barbara Barry for creating the line, but many thanks also need to go out to all of our guests in attendance, Rook & Rose for the flowers and a great big thanks for the support from the team at Kravet Canada: Brian Donovan and Paul Smith, and of course our rep, Brenda Marks – we couldn’t have done it without her fabulous presentation!
There was an abundance of treats and drinks to be had, including our signature cocktail for the event ‘Indochampagne’. All in all, we’d say it was a great success! For more photos and information on the event, including our decor and signature cocktail recipe, check out our latest blog entry.

White is classic, yet strikingly modern. How can you achieve that beautiful, gallery inspired space with crisp white walls without looking stark or sterile?
BC Home to the rescue!
Our principal, Ivan Meade, has been interviewed for the latest issue of BC Home’s article “Fresh Whites” (page 109) alongside very talented fellow designers Patricia Gray and Valerie Edwards. You are sure to find the answers to any of your white questions within the pages of this story.
As always, we were very pleased to have our input featured in this great magazine. The text by Catherine Tse was a pleasure to read and the layout and photography is stunning as always.
For photographs of projects where we have used white in our designs, check out our Interior Design portfolio and take a look at Spring Bay and Persimmon Drive in particular.

We are thrilled to present the completed kitchen from our Persimmon Drive project. The image to your left is just a teaser – in fact, we have just uploaded a whole new gallery for this project in our Interior Design Portfolio for your viewing pleasure.
As you will read about in the gallery, this project was completed over several years – room by room – until this couple (some of our favourite repeat clients) had their finished dream home.
The timeless lines and warm yet contemporary colour palette was introduced throughout the entire home with sleek, walnut millwork and sparkling polished chrome fixtures to create a contemporary but homey ambiance. We didn’t want the tone-on-tone palette to read as dull, so interest was created with custom tile patterns, eye-catching wallpapers and fabrics featuring subtle changes in texture. Please visit the gallery to see the complete project.

We are so excited to let you know that Ivan’s own kitchen, yes you read it right, his own kitchen has been featured in the latest issue (May/Jun 2011, page 28-33) of Y.A.M. magazine. It was really nice to see his space through the eyes of Y.A.M. Magazine, and he is very happy with the end result of the article – and why not? Ivan is very proud of his new title as a self-confessed foodie.
Kerry Slavens wrote a beautiful review of the kitchen and the thoughts behind the design choices. The images are also extremely nice thanks to the skilled eye of well known local photographer Jeff Bosdet.
Ivan particularly likes the photography on pages 30-31- as it really showcases how open and light his space is.
Meade Design Group’s dear friend Tara from Tara McHugh Flora made all the stunning flower arrangements for the photo-shoot. www.taramchughflora.com/
