The Avenue Gallery

New Website for The Avenue Gallery

Meade Design Group was please to upgrade one of Victoria BC’s best art galleries with a new e-Commerce site.  By using WordPress and WooCommerce adding new artists and supporting online purchasing was easy to setup and for the client to self manage. Along with these great new features, the website is also now responsive, meaning that it looks just as great on smart phones, tablets and small screens as it does on larger screens.

The new look is subtle and clean. The gray scale palette allows all of the artwork to pop while maintaining an unobtrusive and contemporary aesthetic.

Persimmon Drive Residence

Persimmon Drive – a Contemporary Residential Design yet Homey

Proof that a space can be comfortable, functional and beautiful.  Most importantly, this contemporary residential design stands the test of time.  It looks as current today as it did the day that the first room, the master bedroom was tackled in 2005.

The home is now finished with the recent renovation of the kitchen. Introduced throughout the home were sleek, rich wood mill work and polished chrome fixtures.  The overall effect conveys a contemporary design yet homey ambiance. However, to avoid the tone-on-tone palette looking dull, interest was created with custom tile patterns, eye-catching wallpapers and fabrics featuring subtle shifts in texture.  In summary, the end result is a happy client and a stunning result.

Client Testimonial

“I have seen how hard you all work, both down in the studio and on site, and I am personally not at all surprised to see you do well and prosper in Victoria. You have shown a very strong ability to communicate and perform your individual and collective skills for me – the customer – on a repeated basis, and Deb and I both thank you for that!

However, it is your ability to adapt to situations that has really shone through during our time working with you on our home. We have often been stymied as to how to proceed with things such as color, design, structure etc but have always known that a call to your office for help would bring a speedy and tasteful resolution.

As we spend more time in our home from one room to the other, we continue to be thankful for all the help you and your staff have provided over the years. We are very pleased with the results and also very proud of our place.”

Resource Trades

Resource Trades

Resource Trades approached Meade Design Group to develop a logo that would be suitable for use on their website. As an online resource for consumers to find contractors, plumbers, millworkers and other trades it had to be appealing both to the end user and the tradespeople clients who were listed on the website. A simplified, bold font was given a point of interest, using a cog as the “O” representing machinery, as well as working together. The font also has a sense of uniqueness with the negative space being highlighted through the use of a stroke that has been applied on most letters – a modern interpretation of a stencil or stamp. The chartreuse, charcoal and white combination is particularly striking within it’s target market.

The Music Engine

The Music Engine

The Music Engine was a digital music promoter in London, UK. The company’s concept was for the clients/artists to upload 3 or more songs to the website, and the artists would then be promoted to record companies though the Music Engine. Their image needed to be hip and innovative.

Meade Design Group created this logo as a representation of music notes and record players, and updated the concepts to translate to the digital world by infusing modern typography. The repetition is very conducive to pattern repeats, and the rotated segments create a subtle sense of movement and working together. It could also read as a contemporary jukebox, or the shadows of 3D cubes. This logo received recognition at PopKomm in Koln (Cologne), an annual music industry event in Germany.

Michelle Mulder

Michelle Mulder

As a children’s author, Michelle’s image needed to be fun and kid friendly, but maintain a professional look for the teachers and parents that would be using her website for resource materials, or for the professional clients who hire Michelle for manuscript consulting and copy writing. The logo and website were cohesively designed with a playful, abstracted version of a bookshelf in primary colours inspired by the series of vertical lettering in her name, which was also rotated as the website’s menu.
