Iván Meade

As principal designer and founder of Meade Design Group, Iván Meade has received international and critical acclaim for his work in graphic, interior and industrial design. Meade Design Group has created a niche for itself in branding designers; Iván has worked with interior designers locally as well as in Australia and throughout North America to help them develop high-value brands for themselves.

Design has always been Iván’s passion. With his new eponymous fabric line, Iván has the opportunity to culminate his experiences with several design disciplines into a personal narrative. Each fabric pattern represents an important part of Iván’s own life experience. The line has been meticulously designed with the ability to integrate into other manufacturer’s inventory in addition to limitless combinations within the line itself.

The logo for Iván Meade needed to be fashionable, individual, elegant and versatile for it’s various applications. It also needed to maintain a relationship with the sister ventures – Meade Design Group and LifeMStyle.

Holmes Realty

Holmes Realty approached Meade Design Group to give them a facelift, they still wanted to maintain recognition with their well-regarded real estate firm and a connection to their home base in Sidney, BC. A first nations inspired raven has been a part of President and Owner, Michele Holmes’ branding from its inception, but overall, the branding was feeling dated. Meade Design Group appealed to their luxury clientele with textured duplex paper and gold embossed foil to create a more sophisticated colour palette. In addition, the typography was cleaned up in a way that embraced both traditional and contemporary styling and a mark was created using the “H” for Holmes, being secured between two of the trigon shapes found in the raven artwork.

The new branding was applied to business cards, brochures, wrapping paper, pre-list document, car wrap, stationery, thank you cards, feature cards and advertising. Meade Design Group also assisted in photography direction for all of these applications.

Dr. Jolyn Starling

Dr. Jolyn Starling is a warm and inviting naturopathic doctor. She needed an image that conveyed both her nurturing practice and the connection to nature. A clean typography was paired with soft, transparent layers of arabesque patterns and simplified leaf shapes, all in a soothing green palette. A sweeping line from the R to the leaf motif was also used to represent connection and an embrace. The completed branding was applied to a website, stationery and intake forms.

Gabriel Ross

Once contacted to re-brand the Gabriel Ross website (aka GR Shop), one of the most important factors in this project was maintaining a recognizable connection to the old image, since Gabriel Ross has a large client base spread across the country. The other key element was the navigation. There is a lot of information on this site on a lot of different product types, so it was important to maintain consistency in how to access and display this information, as well as explore the entire site with ease – there’s more than just products for sale here, there’s a blog, and the ability to create wish lists and gift registries. With all that in mind, this was also an e-commerce and content management site – which made the programming far more in depth.

The Queen’s Printer

Meade Design Group began the work in the Queen’s Printer building with a concept of blending the past, present and future into one timeless space. This was achieved by working with the interior elements and selections for something that is cohesive and beautiful yet extremely functional. Using features from the building’s history such as the coat of arms, architectural details, typesetting equipment and archived photographs, we reinvented the aesthetics with the use of modern technology, bold proportions and striking materials.
