Hollywood Crescent Residence

Hollywood Crescent Residence

A home created for living in, this aesthetic was developed around the clients’ busy lifestyle (including two large canine family members), their extensive art collection, and their beautiful oceanside view – in addition to a desire for a welcoming, calm and casual atmosphere.

The palette was inspired by the West Coast beach which can be seen from the large windows; muted walnut evocative of driftwood, high gloss-greys representative of the water, a featured countertop suggestive of the rock formations and mottled organic tiles reminiscent of wet sand. An eclectic mix of furnishings ties into the varied artworks on display and solidifies the relaxed vibe.

Client Testimonial

“Hiring a designer to completely transform our home was a big decision; ultimately an act of trust.  The Meade Design Group never let us down.  The vision, plan and execution were flawless and efficient, the materials elegant and reflective of our taste.  But it was the relationship with the whole team that made the result amazing. We always felt heard and it became a shared creative experience.  Our home is now a perfect extension of its beautiful west coast setting.

There is not a day that goes by that we are not grateful for what Ivan, Echo and their team have done for us.”

Modern Condo on View Street

Modern Condo on View Street

This modern condo is the result of a complete overhaul of finishes, fixtures, and use of space. An unexpected combination of greys, taupes, ochre and pale blues alongside brass fixtures was used for a happy, modern and masculine aesthetic. The customized IKEA cabinetry in the kitchen is nearly unrecognizable with the use of sophisticated hardware, quartz countertops, a unique glass tile backsplash and careful planning.

The scheme was carried throughout the entire condo including an interior green room which houses the client’s rare collection of carnivorous plants, luxurious bathroom and patio updates and a monolithic electric fireplace constructed from onyx in the living room which creates a much-needed focal point.

Burdett Avenue Condo

BURDETT AVENUE CONDO

These clients were downsizing and moving from out-of-province to retire on Vancouver Island. Having purchased a contemporary condo, they wanted to incorporate their more traditional aesthetic in a way that would not look out of place.

An elegant transitional space was created using warm neutrals with hints of steel-blues and golden metallics incorporating both modern and traditional details. A custom-designed entertainment unit and office was installed and all new custom furnishings were brought in to create a space unique to the clients needs and personality.

Client Testimonial

“After moving from a large house and selling all our furniture, the prospect of how to make our small condo, with its challenging room configurations an elegant but comfortable new home seemed a daunting task. Fortunately for us, a friend recommended Meade Design and we decided to start with the living/dining room and an office. Working with Meade Design was a true pleasure and eye-opening experience as to how gifted, innovative interior designers conceptualize and put together living spaces. Any time there were setbacks (and, inevitably, on any project there are a few), Ivan and Echo went above and beyond expectations to rectify problems and keep things on track. We could not be happier with the end result. The office space is both beautiful and functional and the living/dining room is everything we hoped for and much more. We are so pleased with this project that we have embarked on a new one to design our bedroom. We can’t wait to see the finished results!”

The Village Restaurant

The Village Restaurant: Hip yet familiar

This Oak Bay restaurant was a local favourite for many years. the Village’s new owners wanted to maintain the clientèle, but also aimed to draw in a younger crowd with a more relaxed, contemporary feel.

Drawing inspiration from the restaurant’s moniker, Meade Design Group added a map of the area on the ceiling in custom-printed vinyl and infused the space with a contemporary West-Coast vibe. Raw cedar, concrete tiles on the walls, burlap tablecloths and injections of a saturated rust-orange brought it all together. A strong emphasis was also placed on environmental responsibility, including the use of recycled glass counter tops and re-using nearly all of the existing furniture.

The success of the combination of interior and graphic design services provided by Meade Design Group in the Oak Bay location led to a reunion of the owners and team when a second Village restaurant was opened in Royal Oak. The recognizable and branded elements of the first location were implemented in new ways for the new space, with minor modifications to suit it’s unique needs and later hours.

Client Testimonial

“Meade Design was instrumental in the re-branding and re-design of The Village. Their unique design plan have attracted a new demographic to our Village and brought along a ton of attention from the media. We receive compliments on our restaurant daily and several of our Villagers have put many of our design elements in their own home.

Ivan Meade is a creative genius and compliments it with a practical understanding of how a business operates. More importantly he budgets as if it were his own business and maximizes value in all of his design aspects.

We found the Meade Design to be accessible, professional, efficient, friendly and genuinely a pleasure to deal with. We can’t say enough about Echo, Jeff and Sabrina. There are no individuals at Meade, they work together seamlessly as a team and it shows every time we have contact with them.

We are proud to say Meade Design is a part of our Village family and we include them in all of our plans moving forward. We don’t move on anything: branding, website, social media or design without their consultation first.

There is no doubt that Meade Design has raised the bar, their continued success is proof and they come with our highest recommendation.”

Colleen Buker

Colleen Buker

Interior Designer, Colleen Buker needed an image that captured her design style and depicted her many years of experience. She also wanted the new image to relay a sense of empathy and relate-ability. She described her aesthetic as classic with a twist.

The embossing effect used in Colleen’s business cards gives the notion of having made an imprint on the design industry; the box behind the monogram is meant to represent a pane window and also acts as a modern geometric touch. All of these subtleties combine to create an elegant and cohesive package that is stunning but unpretentious.
